El grabado a láser puede aplicarse en artículos de materiales orgánicos como la madera, el vidrio y el caucho o en artículos de metal (con o sin revestimiento). Con el grabado a láser el resultado de un texto o logotipo es preciso, limpio, permanente y de alta calidad. El logotipo en formato digital es enviado a la máquina que tiene que efectuar el grabado a láser. Con un láser de fibra (láser que se utiliza sobre todo para grabar sobre metal o materiales rígidos) o un láser de CO2 (láser que se utiliza sobre todo para grabar sobre materiales orgánicos) se "quemará" la capa superior del material para obtener el resultado y hacer visible el logotipo.
